Dana Molla Bethesda House of Grace
Picture
Bethesda-Gouse Of Grace is a non profit organization that was founded to help orphans and other helpless children. This Organization is already hosting 32 orphans who come from streets, non-functioning families or are very poor and their parents are not able to supply even the minimum of life's needs. We are over joyed to have the opportunity to bring Gods love and care in the life of

these hopeless children. We also minister to the community through our daily care center "Hope for Children" that disciples more than 100 children in weekly basis. "Summer Camp" is another great project we do where hundreds of children from the north of Albania join our Camp and hear the gospel of Jesus Christ, experiencing His love and care. Let the children come to Me...for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. JESUS.

LAtest Update

Picture
I wish my letter finds you well and strong in the Lord.

Times are vicious, uncertainty is everywhere and hopelessness has captured many hearts.

Our country is on the verge of collapse economically. One more lock down, as predicted in the fall, and we don't know what is going to happen as many big businesses will go down.
First quarantine many small businesses went bankrupt and thousands of people lost their jobs. Unemployment is the highest in the last 10 years.
We are praying that God will prevent a massive business bankruptcy as predicted in the fall.

In these conditions even the strongest feel like fainting. As I have stated in the previous letters, it would be a lie if I said that we are not affected by all of this. The only way for us to stand is in Christ. In Him we find strength and hope for today and for the future. We believe that God the Father holds our future in His hands, the future of the children we care for, as well as the future of our country. Glory to Him!!

The hope of glory lives in us!

Due to the situation with covid-19 the poor families of Albania are left on their own as the government has failed to have a special helping program in this peculiar situation. Children are those who suffer the consequences most. The fact that a lot of them have no way to escape the abuse of their alcohol and addicted fathers and the physical abuse of both parents, the child trafficking and loss of children has reached a scary number in our country. Domestic violence, suicide and other social plagues are crippling our society. Children are at risk!
Non profit organisations like us are trying to help as much as we can, but limited financial resources we can do so much.
Our eyes are on the Lord Jesus, the hope of glory!

 Children's Home

Last year we had 14 children in our Home and two girls, 5 year old and 7 year old, were supposed to come at the end of last year. Their papers were delayed and then covid-19 situation made it impossible for them to come. Their case got stuck at Social Services. They are working to bring them as soon as possible. Hopefully they will make it in  September before school starts.

Two children, a 15 year old girl ( Antonela) and an 18 year old boy (Niko), brother and sister, finished their time in our Home and returned to their biological family.

Right now we have 12 children under our care and two new ones on the way.

In January this year, the board of Bethesda made a decision to move the children from Lac to our Children's Home in Tirana.
The reason for that is because in Lac we can not find Christian workers for the job. It has been at least three years of struggling with this problem that caused us  to make this decision of transferring the Children from Lac to Tirana.
The house in Lac will be used for the children of the community. For transforming the building in Lac  into a community center for children in need, some adjustments must be made. That requires finances. In order to generate those finances we need for the future of the ministry in Lac, the board decided to rent out the House for a year in an effort  to accumulate  finances for the renovation of the building inside. We are waiting for customers that can pay a good rent.

Xhemi, is a young man 15 years old who finished his 9th grade in June and according to the law it is time for him to leave. But he is an orphan and has no family to take care of him. But he also does not like to stay with us due to restrictions. He wants his freedom as a teenager. He is at a cross road. We are trying to help him. I offered to register him in a good trade school run by German company, with an opportunity to find a job in Germany after three years of study and graduation in a profession he would choose. He is not sure yet what to do with his life and needs help.

Due to covid-19 situation we lost more financial support from Sweden but by God's grace we got new support from England, US, Norway and Greece. We are extremely grateful to those precious friends who came in right on time and gave us a hand, in the most difficult season. May the Lord bless you all!!

With the finances we are granted at the moment,we are about $ 1.800 under the budget. That makes our work very difficult. But we always believe that God will not leave nor forsake us. We are also trying to do our part to raise the funds. With God all things are possible!

This summer has been very intensive regarding the work at Bethesda House.
After three very difficult months of lock down we left behind, homeschooling the children, when the country opened, we all were looking forward to going out, travelling a bit through the country and taking the children to the beach. Sadly this was not possible due to a huge gap of three months not working. We are still working to fill that gap and prepare the House and the children for the school year.
By grace we can do all things!!

Homeschooling

As you all know, due to discrimination of our children in public schools, use of drugs in the open, lack of protection from bullies or child traffickers, we have have sent several requests to the Ministry of education asking to give us permission to do homeschooling for our children. We haven't gotten any response yet. I know this sounds unbelievable but it's true. This is our government. We are still waiting for the green light as we believe that homeschooling is the alternative for vulnerable children like ours.

The future

I have never before been so uncertain about the future of our ministry, the children of our country and our country as a whole.

However we do have our vision and plans.

*The plan is to establish two Home families in Tirana, one for boys and one for girls. For that we are waiting for an approval from the Social Services to bring the boys from Lac to Tirana.

*To open a community center for children, especially vulnerable children, underprivileged, children with special needs and more. This is based on our vision to reach our hand of help to many Albanian Children through our projects.
Child protection is also a huge need in Albania and we want to work more in that field to come to help the children.
We are slowly building a network of Christian organisations in the land, who have the same vision as us.
Together we can rescue, help and save more children in  Albania.

Most of our children come from the street and from very abusive families. It takes a lot to help them recover and get back to normal.
We try to do our part as much as finances allow us. For that, this summer, we paid for an Ice skating course for all the boys and they have been enjoying it so much. But just recently the government shut it down again. It was very sad! They were learning  very fast and thoroughly enjoying it. There is not much we can do for our children these days except taking them to the beach or travelling for them to see and enjoy the nature of the country. But that requires quite a bit of finances. We are doing the best we can to educate and entertain them through different activities that do not require a lot of money.
In close you have a few pictures of some of our activities with the children.

Prayer points

* For the children to be open to the Lord and get healed and restored from their abusive past.
* For our staff to find strength and wisdom in the Lord to love and care for children in the best way.
* For three new qualified staff for September.
* For approval of  homeschooling from the Ministry of education.
* For finances to reach the budget.
* For the approval from the Social Services to transfer the children from Lac to Bethesda House in Tirana.
* For the future of Bethesda Ministry according to the vision and the needs of the children of the community.
* For Xhemi the 15 year/old boy for direction for his life. ( If anyone feels the urge to help him please contact me)
* For the two new girls to come as they are in the streets.

Give thanks to the Lord for He is God and He is the PROVIDER!!

Thank you so much for your continuous help in every aspect!
We appreciate your prayers, your love, your care, your support!

We are together in this mission!
All the glory belongs to the Lord for what He is doing and you deserve a lot of appreciation for answering God's calling in this divine mission.

Thank you all!!
May the Lord keep His eyes upon you and your household!
May He continue to multiply your blessings as you humbly serve Him by ministering to the least of these.

With much love and appreciation from Dana and  Bethesda team.
